DPDP notice — how we handle your data
Written for the actual audience, not for lawyers. "The people in your database trusted a movement, not a dragnet."
What we collect, and why
We collect your name, contact details, district or constituency, area of interest, readiness and any short statement you choose to submit. Each form explains why the information is needed before you send it.
Data minimisation
This is why every field on the waiting list exists for a stated purpose: mobile and email to reach a genuine, verifiable person, geography for placement, your statement of intent and past contribution for genuine-intent verification, and nothing beyond that. We do not collect what we don't need.
Consent
Purpose-limited consent is captured with a policy version and timestamp at every form. Nominee data is processed on the basis of the nominator's assertion of a relationship — the nominee gets an immediate, one-tap "remove me" on first contact. This process is reviewed as part of the privacy policy.
Who can see your data
Role-based access inside the Centre and We The Leaders. On The Ladder: your name, constituency, role and tier are visible to the movement; your detailed progress records are private. No public leaderboard.
Retention
Application and enquiry records are reviewed regularly and deleted when they are no longer needed for the stated purpose, subject to legal or safeguarding obligations.
Deletion
Deletion on request, with a one-tap path. You may request deletion through the contact page or use the opt-out included in programme messages.
Where your data is stored
India region, for data residency under the DPDP Act. CDN with Indian points of presence.
During notified election periods
During a notified election period, new public content is routed through an additional factual and compliance review before publication.
